The name sure sounds intriguing to you all..Isn’t it? “Fro-Yo” is just a shortened version for frozen yogurt. Thanks to my teenaged daughter, she keeps me well aware of the bizarre language they talk to each other nowdays and “Fro-Yo”sounds so much like those YO words. Their text messages seem to me like a jumble of disconnected letters, numbers, and odd punctuation. A normal YES is also YAAAASSSS! for them. Nowadays I also mutter “my bad” when I commit a mistake. The other day she enters the room announcing that some random girl is her “Frenemy”…and I am like scratching my head trying to figure out what that slang means. I think parents just have to take it on the chin and accept it as a phase.


As for these healthy frozen yogurt bites, they are creamy and cinnamony with a generous sprinkling of choco chips. These are way better than the store brought ice creams or yoghurt which have additives and preservatives for a longer shelf life. My kids have been thriving on these fruity bites and Popsicles this summer. These are perfect to be sent for this 42 nd #FoodieMonday #bloghop for which the theme is #KidsDelight.

 

A easy peasy five ingredient Fro-Yo bites, creamy like an ice cream and healthy to the core. An interesting summer activity for the children too, let their imagination run wild with the garnishes and layers and give wings to their creativity. You can add a bottom layer of granola to give a crunch to the fro yo bites. They can be set in muffin trays, moulds or ice cube trays of various shapes, the smaller the better as they are just bites.

Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Slice the ripe bananas and lay it out on a butter paper in a single layer and freeze for an hour .
  2. Take it out from the freezer, blend them with the Greek yoghurt, cinnamon and honey in a food processor for 2 minutes or till it resembles a creamy spread.
  3. Add the chocochips leaving some for the garnish and give one small whizz.
  4. Scoop it out in the muffin tray or silicon muffin moulds, sprinkle with the choco chips generously and freeze for 2 hours.
  5. Unmould and enjoy the creamy surprise.
Recipe Notes

Notes:

  • Make sure you use less of yogurt and more bananas for the creamy effect.
  • The bananas have to be sliced and frozen before blending otherwise they will taste slimy.
